Required Education and Experience: Master's Degree AND:
36 months experience with student services and programs
Equivalency/Substitution\: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff
Must be able to create and deliver effective teaching courses
Effective oral and written communication skills
Must be able to perform basic data analysis

MS in atmospheric science, geographic science, climate studies or related fields

The College of Atmospheric & Geographic Sciences seeks a dedicated professional to lead strategic initiatives focused on improved student mentoring, advising, and career development while helping the Dean and Associate Dean in leading new initiatives to improve college admission, retention, and graduation rates.
Duties\:
Lead strategic initiatives focused on improved student mentoring, advising, and career development.
Coordinate the A&GS First Year Experience programs and courses.
Teach sections of the AGS FYE class AGSC 1513 “Where the Land Meets the Sky”.
Assist the dean and associate dean in leading new initiatives to improve college admission, retention, and graduation rates.
Lead the planning of student-centric events and coordinate the participation of A&GS in events organized by OU’s Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
Assist faculty and students in resolving conflicts.
Supervise the A&GS Director of Advising and NWC Outreach Coordinator in the Dean's Office.
Coordinate the submission of degree program changes and lead the A&GS Academic Programs Council meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
