Job Title: Machine Operator
Schedule:
2nd Shift: 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm
Must be willing to work Saturdays
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour (DOE)Job Summary:
Set up and operate single and/or multi-die headers for manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners. This role requires the ability to interpret technical documents, operate machines, and ensure high-quality standards throughout production.Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Competencies:
Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret documents (blueprints, drawings, or manufacturing work orders) to determine the necessary tools and materials for producing precision parts to aircraft specifications.
Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate assigned headers and related equipment on a production basis. Make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications. Select, mount, and align tooling attachments and materials correctly.
Material Loading & Monitoring: Load machines with raw materials and monitor production runs using measurement devices, including comparators, micrometers, calipers, and other inspection gauges.
Rework & Tooling: Perform rework and direct the reworking of tooling as needed to meet production standards.
Statistical Process Control (SPC): Maintain accurate SPC records, making adjustments to the production process based on the data collected during the run.
Productivity & Quality: Meet and maintain all productivity and quality requirements to support departmental goals and schedules.
Training: Provide training to department personnel on all aspects of machine setup and operation.
Maintenance: Perform minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines to ensure proper functioning.
Record Keeping & Safety: Keep accurate records, handle data entry, and maintain a clean working environment while adhering to safety regulations.Qualifications:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and understand blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and production of parts.
Experience: High school diploma or GED. A minimum of 4 years of experience in heading aircraft quality fasteners on single and/or multi-die machines or equivalent combination of education and experience.Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel materials, and communicate effectively.
Occasionally required to walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
