We are seeking a skilled Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE) with expertise in MongoDB to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our database infrastructure. You will work closely with development, SRE, and DevOps teams to optimize database operations, automate processes, and proactively resolve issues.

Strong knowledge of MongoDB indexes, index management, integrity checks, and statistics. Understand query plans to troubleshoot performance issues. Knowledge of CRUD syntax and Aggregation Framework. Understanding of replication, vertical scaling, horizontal scaling, and DR. Expert skill in MongoDB server 6.0, 7.0 & 8.0. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong knowledge of database automation, ideally with Python and/or Ansible. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent communications skills; written, verbal, and presentation. Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations. You Will:

Design, maintain, and optimize MongoDB clusters for high availability and performance.

Implement database monitoring, alerting, and automated remediation strategies.

Collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines.

Ensure database security, backup, and disaster recovery best practices.

Troubleshoot database performance issues and optimize queries and indexes.

Develop automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions for database operations.

Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning. You Have:

Experience with automation frameworks

Experience with Python and/or Ansible or equivalents

MongoDB (Configure, Tune, Upgrade, Recovery)

Experience with MongoDB Sharding

Experience with MongoDB Query and Index Tuning

Experience with MongoDB Replication Nice to have:

Experience with Elastic

Experience with networking and virtualization/containers

Experience with troubleshooting hardware issues

Experience with MongoDB security best practices Education/Experience:

A Highschool Diploma or equivalent is required.

A Bachelor's degree in software development, database programming, or computer engineering is preferred.

5+ years in an SRE position managing database workloads (preferably MongoDB workloads) or 5+ years in a developer position with advanced MongoDB knowledge. General Remote Environment:

Moderate levels of stress may occur at times.

It may require long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor

No physical demands are required.

On- Call Rotation is required with the possibility during holidays as required by the business for 24/7 support.

The following information is required by theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, New York City Pay Transparency Act, Washington Pay Transparceny Act and California Pay Transparency Act. This applies only to individuals working in the state of Colorado, Washington, California and New York City. The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado, California, Washington and New York City applicants for this role is $116,100-$170,280 for CO and $135,300 - $198,400 for NYC, WA and CA. Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
