Our dynamic and evolutionary client is seeking to contract a highly capable and motivated Automation Engineer.
In this role the Automation Engineer will support a complex engineering and procurement program in the nuclear or heavy industrial sector. This role will focus on designing, building, and maintaining automation workflows that streamline data across engineering, procurement, and construction platforms. You will help improve data accuracy, speed, and traceability while supporting compliance with strict regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement automated data flows between:
Engineering databases (e.g., equipment/component tracking, material traceability)
BIM platforms (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) used for facility modeling
Excel-based procurement and QA documentation tools
Develop and maintain custom scripts, ETL processes, and API integrations for data synchronization and reporting
Ensure data flows meet regulatory, audit, and traceability requirements
Collaborate across engineering, QA, and procurement teams to identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities
Document logic, workflows, validation procedures, and system changes in detail
Provide training and support to engineering and procurement users adopting new tools
Contribute to digital transformation efforts that align with standards such as NQA-1 or ISO 19443
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
10+ years in engineering, procurement, or construction of large industrial projects (nuclear experience a plus)
3+ years of experience in systems automation or digital engineering
Proficient in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, VBA) and Excel automation
Hands-on experience with BIM platforms (Revit, Navisworks) and SQL-based databases
Strong understanding of regulated industry documentation and quality control practices
Familiarity with quality standards like ASME NQA-1, ISO 19443, or similar
Experience working with digital twins, configuration management, or procurement systems
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in industrial or critical infrastructure settings Estimated Compensation Range: $75.00 - $110.00 per hour. This range represents the estimated low end and high end of the compensation range for this position. All experience levels considered.
