Description:

Position responsibilities:

* Apply advanced accounting skills to perform and/or oversee routine and non-routine tasks involving the processing and reconciliation of receivables, billing, payroll, accounts payable, contract revenue calculations, contract cost accumulation and reporting, indirect rate calculations, fixed assets, general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supporting compliance audits.

* Utilize Deltek Costpoint to manage accounting processes, responsible for project management of accounting close and timely reporting.

* Manage Accounts Receivable and the collection process.

* Process and/or review Accounts Payable (AP) and assess internal controls.

* Monitor cash flow in accordance with corporate needs.

* Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.

* Process and/or review project setup activities, including project workforce.

* Collect, process, and reconcile labor.

* Process payroll in Costpoint to submit to bank

* Process semi-monthly payroll in a timely manner.

* Maintain 401K reconciliation and process transactions for plan participants.

* Process and/or review billing; closely monitors monthly billing cycle

* Process inter-company work orders

* Conduct research & analysis billed and unbilled receivable analysis, and revenue recognition.

* Process and/or review month-end reconciliations of prepaids.

* Complete and/or review any necessary month-end journal entries.

* Analyze General Ledger activities for accuracy and determine if reclassification is needed.

* Lead the monthly closing procedures, including preliminary analysis of financial results and preparation of the month-end financial reporting package.

* Process month-end consolidation of multiple entities

* Oversee annual audits and tax preparation by third-party.

* Ensure periodic corporate state and local filings are completed, including business, property, and payroll.

* Experience with Incurred Cost Submissions and Indirect rate calculations a plus

* Serve as a resource to staff in the resolution of complex problems; ensure the team has the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.

Essential skills and experience:

* 7+ years of progressive accounting experience required, proficiency with general ledger, job costing, Government Accounting and GAAP compliance a must

* Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint accounting package required

* Must be proficient in standard office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

* Strong problem solving aptitude required; must be able to analyze client needs and leverage accounting systems effectively to create value to customers

* Proficiency in GAAP and cost accounting required

* Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must effectively communicate the scope of work and technical findings or recommendations to a non-technical audience; ability to produce readable, concise and accurate written documentation required.

* Must be able to isolate issues and define problems clearly and articulate solutions in a clear, concise, and consultative manner

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Role qualifications:

* Must address customer issues and ensure effective problem resolution

* Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines

* Ability to manage and mentor accounting support team

* Must ensure compliance with company, GAAP, FAR procedures and standards

* Controller works normal business hours; however, s/he may be required to alter schedules and activities to support the requirements of the position.

* Successful completion of third-party background investigation and credit check.

Valued but not required skills and experience:

* Strong knowledge of IT industry preferred

* CPA, CMA or CFP strongly preferred
