This is a fulltime hybrid position.
Position Summary:
Family Health Center of Worcester seeks to hire a Grant Writer/Grant Manager to expand efforts in securing new and maintaining existing grant funding to support programs, operations, and capital needs.
Family Health Center of Worcester is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center that provides care for more than 30,000 patients annually in over 77 languages. This position requires the ability to respect and support the health center mission and the diversity of the community we serve. This position will operate on a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working closely with the members of the Development Department, the Grant Writer/Grant Manager will:
• Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals and other funding materials in alignment with organization's mission, goals, and programs.
• Identify and research grant funding prospects from state and federal government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources.
• Lead grant vetting discussions with senior leaders.
• Collaborate with the Finance Department, Development Department, and Grant Leads on grant budget development.
• Ensure grant proposals and other funding materials are submitted on time and comply with all requirements.
• Develop and maintain relationships with funders, including program officers and other key decision-makers.
• Summarize and track data on grant submissions and awards in departmental database.
• Maintain accurate records of all proposals, submissions, and grant awards.
• For multi-year awards, collaborate with Manager of Grants Administration and program staff managing the funded project to complete and submit required reports and/or applications for continued/renewal funding by required deadlines.
• Collaborate with department team on communications site visits, marketing activities, and other events related to maintaining funder relationships.
• Participate in the preparation annual community needs assessment and other needs assessments and case statements as assigned.
• Participate in the execution of the Development Department's overall philanthropy strategy.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Master's Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or related field preferred.
Bachelor's Degree with 5 years relevant may be substituted for Master's Degree requirement and a minimum of 5 years of grant writing experience.
• Track record of success in writing proposals and securing funding from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources.
• Familiarity with Federally Qualified Community Health Centers (FQHC).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Strong time and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of grant-making processes and compliance requirements.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with program staff, senior leadership, and external partners.
• Strong computer literacy
