DevSecOps/Openshift (Kubernetes) Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevSecOps/Openshift (Kubernetes) Engineer to join our team supporting large projects for the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Kubernetes, OpenShift, and DevSecOps practices, with the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction, mentoring team members to drive organizational maturity.

Consult with development teams to ensure platform fit aligns with business application requirements.

Work collaboratively with teams to ensure successful deployment, upgrade, and maintenance of products.

Produce detailed documentation for processes and automation.

Troubleshoot application issues in the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environment. Required Skills and Experience:

8+ years of experience working on Kubernetes and OpenShift.

8+ years of experience in Linux shell scripting.

5+ years of experience in application containerization management.

5+ years of experience in DevSecOps practices, infrastructure, scripting/programming.

Experience with APIs, micro-services development, containers, and supporting platform technologies.

Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), including designing and implementing ADO Wiki, Work Item structures, Pipelines, ADO GIT repos/branches/Pull Requests, and related standards and processes.

Experience in automating CI/CD needs on RedHat OpenShift/OCP, Linux, Windows, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.

Experience creating ADO Build and Deploy Pipelines for Java and .Net Apps, integrating with Apache Tomcat, JBoss, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, Oracle, etc.

Experience with Red Hat OpenShift V4 and troubleshooting application issues in this environment.

Experience creating Docker and S2I images, Stateful sets, and converting existing Docker images to S2I images and vice versa.

Experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) version 8.X and higher, including administration, performance, and capacity management.

Experience with SonarQube, Coverity, Black Duck, and integrating these tools into ADO Pipelines and Pull Request flows.

Strong knowledge of SSL, TCP/IP Networking, LDAP.

Experience with Linux scripting, .ksh, bash, and Python.

Experience in understanding and debugging Java errors. Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
