Overview

We are seeking a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse, sometimes referred to as a Geri-Psych RN. These Registered Nurses (RN) play an important role in our hospital by treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions.

Employment Type: Per Diem

Shifts Available: Variable

Hours: 7:00 to 7:00

Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties that include treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, andproviding advice and emotional support to patients* and/or family members, running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention,seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record patients* medical histories and symptoms, help to perform diagnostic tests and analyzeresults, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. RNs teachpatients and their families how to manage their illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, and self-administration of medication andphysical therapy. Other related duties. Must have current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State

BCLS upon hire and maintain current

Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred

One year as a Staff RN in an Acute Care Hospital preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
