Job DescriptionAre you an advanced Systems Engineer with demonstrated Tier 3 support experience with Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Operating Systems? Are you a master at administering Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, workstation and server hardware, and basic networking? If so, AMERICAN SYSTEMS wants you to join our team as our next Lead Systems Engineer in the Arlington, VA or JBAB, DC area!

As a Lead Systems Engineer You Will

Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to enterprise platforms

Provide Tier 3 IT systems support on a wide range of technologies across classified enterprise systems

Administering Microsoft Windows OS and a variety of technologies including, but limited to:

VMware vCenter and VMware ESXi

Horizon View

Site Recovery Manager

HPAC Secure Printing

HP Servers

EMC SANs

Administering Microsoft Office 2016 (and newer), Certificate Services, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PKIs

Administering Linux (RHEL) systems including deployment and updates

Managing updates and software deployments using Microsoft SCCM/MECM

Deploying workstation images and managing thin and/or zero clients

Writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to accomplish repetitive tasks

Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms

Providing direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers

Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel

Working on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer's production IT environment Job Requirements

Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience

At least 2 years of experience administering Linux (RHEL) systems

DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)

DoD 8570 computing environment certification required within 6 months of hire (e.g., MCSA, VCP, or equivalent.)

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, EMC SANs, and VMware products

Willingness to occasionally work after normal duty hours to support system maintenance or service outages

Must be open to random CI Polygraph AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
