Job Title: Accounts Receivable (A/R) Team Lead
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Hybrid, requiring 2 to 3 days in the office
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) Team Lead to guide and support our team of A/R associates focused on healthcare insurance collections. The ideal candidate will ensure timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding receivables, monitor team performance, and report results to management. This role is crucial in reducing A/R aging and improving collections through effective use of both manual and automated processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Distributes and monitors daily AR work, including aging, denial management, and credit balances, to ensure timely and accurate resolution across multiple clients.
Analyzes and resolves claim denials and reimbursement discrepancies, ensuring timely resubmission and adherence to payer guidelines.
Maintains client dashboards and prepares detailed AR performance reports for the Client Account Management Team.
Leads training for new and current staff, addressing trends and process gaps identified through denial patterns and scrub edits.
Ensures compliance with HIPAA and federal/state regulations while supporting optimal collections and preventing timely filing issues.
Meets productivity and collections goals, escalating billing issues and trends to AR leadership for resolution and improvement. Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in healthcare billing.
- Prior leadership experience managing a large team.
- Strong knowledge of payer rules and healthcare insurance processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports for management review.
- Proficient in relevant software and tools used in accounts receivable management.
