Description
Reporting to the Director of Simulation and the Dean of the School of the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies the Clinical Simulation Educator plays a key role in designing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based education to enhance clinical learning and improve patient outcomes. This position collaborates with faculty, staff, and healthcare professionals to develop high-quality simulation experiences that support skill development, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develops, coordinates, and facilitates simulation-based learning experiences for students, faculty, and healthcare professionals daily.
Operates and maintains simulation technology, including high-fidelity mannequins, audiovisual equipment, and simulation trainers.
Collaborates with faculty, clinical educators, and team members from the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies to integrate simulation into curricula and training programs.
Ensures a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement and professional growth.
Maintains simulation lab inventory, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensures compliance with industry standards.
Stays current with advancements in simulation technology, educational methodologies, and best practices in clinical training.
Participates in faculty development, training, and research initiatives related to simulation-based education.
Assists in data collection and program evaluation to measure the effectiveness of simulation activities.
Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.
Tracks inventory levels and identifies and reports any shortages.
Completes work assignments independently and in a timely manner.
Performs occasionally heavy lifting and moving of equipment.
Supports all components of the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies as required.
Represents the school's simulation offerings and experiences at various undergraduate and graduate admissions events.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Health or Computer related field.
Minimum 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in simulation-based learning, or healthcare training.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamworking skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain simulation equipment and software.
Commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Experienced in utilizing internet resources, with advanced computer literacy and experience in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Some admissions related work on weekends will be required as needed. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of computer and AV hardware/software preferred.
Possess basic medical knowledge.

Salary/Salary Range
$65,000 - $70,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education. In addition to the salary offered, we offer a collegial and inclusive culture, and a benefits program which includes generous paid time off, paid holidays, tuition remission for employees and eligible dependents, and a retirement plan with University contributions.
*Salary ranges indicated for positions covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement are in accordance with the CBA.
