SUMMARY
The Chief Engineer focuses on technical program leadership, provides mentorship and guidance for other engineers, and supports company growth and overall technical direction. The Chief Engineer oversees and guides the design, development, and manufacturing processes and ensures technical success of the company’s programs. The Chief Engineer plays a key role in determining strategic technologies and capturing associated programs. Reports to the Senior Technical Fellow.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Technical Program Leadership
Ensure program technical excellence as commensurate with program scope, customer expectations and company interest
Oversee technical aspects of projects ensuring appropriate design, analysis and testing is conducted through program gate reviews
Review designs for cost, manufacturing, and quality assurance
Provide customer facing technical leadership and guidance
Applies knowledge of industry tools/software relevant to mechanical systems design
Engineering Operational Leadership
Provide guidance, mentorship and leadership to all levels of engineers
Influence company engineering design standards and guidelines
Business Development Support
Identify and develop new technologies based upon industry needs and opportunities
Support proposal concept development, ensure technical compliance and identify technical risks
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical engineering field required
Proven ability to conceptualize, develop, and design structures, mechanisms and mechanical systems in accordance with customer requirements and aerospace/DoD standards
Knowledge of industry tools/software relevant to mechanical systems design
Detailed knowledge of design based military and commercial specifications
Minimum of 10 years technical experience
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must hold OR be able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance
