Job Summary
WebstaurantStore, a Clark Associates Company and the Internet's largest restaurant supplier, is looking for candidates in the Lititz Pennsylvania area who love technology to join our growing company as a Database Reliability Engineer (DBRE). This position is great for existing DBREs, or Database Administrators (DBA) who are interested in making the paradigm shift from the traditional role. Working directly with experienced DBREs, Site Reliability Engineers, and System Engineers, you'll gain the knowledge and experience necessary to succeed in today's IT environment. Remote Work Qualifications
Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
Access to a home router and modem.
A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.

As a DBRE, you will:
Protect, preserve, and ensure the availability of the data.
Measure and monitor database performance to ensure optimal configuration settings are applied.
Document and automate processes to eliminate time spent on recurring tasks.
Build and maintain self-serve tools for application and database developers.
Become proficient with available in-house developed and 3rd party tools.
Assume responsibility for database security, backups, and maintenance tasks.
Identify and implement new relevant SQL Server features as they become available.
Participate in the on-call rotation. Physical Requirements
Work is performed while sitting/standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 50lbs. Qualifications
Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Have 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server
Have 2+ years of experience supporting Postgres
Strong attention to detail Preferred Qualifications:
Understand relational database theory and implementations
Have setup, configured, and supported SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
Possess experience with additional types of data stores and data models (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Strong experience with PowerShell
Comfortable using git
Familiar with job scheduling software
Fundamental understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems
