Job SummaryThe Internship Coordinator supports the College’s strategic goals of advancing experiential learning and enhancing career readiness for students. This position is responsible for cultivating and managing partnerships with industry, community organizations, and educational institutions throughout the Central Ohio region to secure meaningful internship opportunities aligned with students’ academic programs.
Serving as a key representative of the College, the Internship Coordinator builds and maintains relationships that promote student success through real-world learning experiences. In collaboration with faculty, staff, and employer partners, the Coordinator also leads outreach initiatives, supports internship-related events, and ensures effective communication and coordination across departments. The role includes tracking program participation, maintaining relevant data, and contributing to the overall growth and quality of the internship program. The Internship Coordinator also leads the planning and execution of employer-facing and student-focused events for the office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Internship Program Coordination
Collaborates with industry partners and academic faculty to develop high-quality internship opportunities aligned with students’ programs of study. Serves as the primary liaison for faculty, students, and employers on internship-related matters. Maintains and updates the college’s online job board to communicate internship opportunities and facilitate access to experiential learning.
Works closely with Program Coordinators within academic departments to align internship opportunities with curriculum requirements, identify eligible students, and support integration of internship experiences into academic planning. Monitors enrollment trends and supports the registration process as needed.
Supports students pursuing both academic and non-academic internships by providing guidance, employer connections, and access to professional development resources that strengthen career readiness.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a strategic outreach plan to increase awareness, participation, and employer partnerships related to internship programming.
Creates and executes a month-by-month outreach calendar to target students in relevant academic pathways and promote available opportunities. Supports outreach efforts by collecting and developing targeted content, as well as attending related events.
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the internship program, ensuring alignment with established processes and procedures. Develops and manages a comprehensive work plan to support the expansion of internship opportunities and student participation.
Coordinates and supports internship-related grant initiatives, including documentation, reporting, and programming requirements. Ensures program compliance by verifying student eligibility and internship qualifications, including credit hour requirements, approved internship sites, and faculty documentation.
Assists with course enrollment as needed and ensures each student is paired with a qualified mentor. Directs students to appropriate resources, including CSCC Career Services, for support in soft skills development, resume preparation, interview coaching, and career advising.
Outreach, Partnerships, & Event Leadership
Serves as a liaison to industry partners, students, faculty, and college departments to advance internship goals. Builds strong working relationships with stakeholders across the institution, including faculty and staff involved in experiential learning.
Collaborates with academic departments and supervisors to align activities with program curricula and workforce needs. Develops and maintains external partnerships with employers and industry organizations to expand internship opportunities.
Represents the college and promotes the internship program through presentations to local industry associations, roundtables, councils, and other community forums. Engages organizations in offering real-world learning experiences on behalf of the college.
Leads the planning and execution of employer-facing and student-focused events in collaboration with the Career Services team, including internship fairs, networking events, and outreach activities. Coordinates event logistics and engagement strategies that promote experiential learning and strengthen industry partnerships.
Communicates clearly and persuasively with diverse audiences, tailoring messages to suit varying stakeholder needs. Uses effective interpersonal skills to build trust and credibility with internal and external partners. Engages others in a way that fosters openness, confidence, and long-term collaboration.
Data & Administrative Support
Collects and tracks data related to internship participation, student and employer satisfaction, and internship performance using standardized forms and surveys. Gathers feedback from employer mentors, student interns, and faculty to support continuous program improvement.
Maintains a centralized database of key metrics, including outreach activities, employer and student engagement, and response trends. Ensures accuracy and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Compiles and submits regular reports on internship program outcomes, including monthly progress updates, an annual summative report, and ad hoc data requests. Shares findings with the supervisor and internal stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and program refinement.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, business, communications, or a comparable discipline.
Two (2) years of experience in a related field.
State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in education, business, communications, or a comparable discipline.
Project Management experience
Experience building working relationships
