Field Services Manager, Municipal Association of South Carolina

The Municipal Association of South Carolina is seeking well-qualified and results-oriented candidates to fill the position of field services manager. Residency in or immediately adjacent to the upstate territory is required. This position works mainly from a home office and in the field delivering onsite technical assistance, communicating with members, meeting with elected officials and staff, and providing specialized training. Frequent travel is required.

Job duties:

Provides technical assistance to cities and towns; establishes relationships and maintains an ongoing communication link between the members and the Association; and researches, prepares and delivers presentations at municipal council and Association meetings

Promotes the Association’s programs and services; updates Association management on key issues or concerns from member cities and determines if any action is needed; serves as a technical expert researching, preparing and editing publications, resources and content; provides special services to cities and towns on request such as strategic planning, team building and council retreat facilitation

May serve as a technical advisor to assigned affiliate organization(s)

Assists with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in public administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of seven years of management experience in local government or a closely related field

Valid South Carolina driver’s license required

Must possess excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, analytical and customer service skills; strong working knowledge of local and state government; and experience dealing with a variety of municipal issues

Requires flexible schedule to attend frequent evening and limited weekend meetings

International City/County Management Association Credentialed Manager preferred
