Job Description
Help us succeed by doing your part as a member of our Machine Shop department as a Manual Mill Machinist. We offer a unique environment that fosters individual growth and rewards performance. · Plans sequence of operations, determine cutting tools to be used, method of holding, aligning work and machine speeds and feeds associated with engine lathes, manual and CNC mills, etc.
· Set up, run and maintain manual mill operations
· Set up machines to completely, and independently, perform any operation/s within its capacity and make all necessary machine adjustments
· Checks to detail drawing or sketches using precision measuring devices/instruments and computing angular and linear dimensions as required
· Provide unbiased proactive feedback to Engineering/Programming
· Works from drawings, specifications, set-up interactions and data to check parts for conformity to specifications
· Recognizes improper machine functioning or cutting and develop procedures for corrective action
· Complete de-burr of all machine parts
· Works with inspections department as required in the performance of responsibilities
· Performs daily maintenance (fluid levels, pressures, cleaning) and minor machine repairs
· Provides machine support to the company tooling function
· Performs responsibilities incidental to the process
· Trains other employees as needed
· Performs all other duties as assigned
Preferred job related qualifications:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as, but not limited to, engineering drawings, tool designs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak and present information as may be needed to individual or small groups.
Ability to perform basic math calculations, proportions, percentages, fractions, circumference etc. in the course of assigned job scope.
Ability to read and write as may be required to complete work orders or for other job-related communication needs.
Must have basic understanding of CNC machine function and G-Code language.
Must have experience working with Fanuc controls.
Must be able to interpret B/P’s, Mfg. work instructions (written), M.O.T’s, etc.
Must be familiar with cutting tools and their nomenclature (identification).
Quality minded at all times.
GD&T experience is required
