We are on the hunt for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Cost Accountant to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This role is pivotal in our finance department and will be responsible for managing and analyzing all costs associated with our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in assessing our company's production costs, inventory, bills of materials, and production variances to help us increase profitability and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of cost reports and costing audits.
Conduct regular physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability.
Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management.
Work in special projects as required.
Assist in establishing and implementing inventory policies and procedures.
Perform regular audits of bill of materials to ensure product costs are accurate and accounted for properly. Report and document any discrepancies.
Review production variances to identify and resolve matters.
Prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant or similar role.
Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
Analytical mindset with superb communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong time management skills.
In-depth understanding of the manufacturing industry and its financials.
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis.
Well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments.
Exceptional knowledge of cost accounting and financial management in the manufacturing sector.
Demonstrated experience with inventory, bill of materials, and production variances.
CPA or CMA certification would be considered an asset.
