The Quality Engineer Intern will assist the quality engineering team in ensuring that products are manufactured to meet the highest quality standards. The intern will gain hands-on experience in quality control, testing, data analysis, and process improvement techniques while supporting various initiatives to improve product quality and operational efficiency. Other duties include:
Assist in Quality Assurance (QA) Activities:
Support in the inspection, testing, and auditing of products.
Assist with gathering and analyzing data to track product quality performance.
Perform product and process analysis to identify areas of improvement.
Document Control:
Help maintain and organize quality documentation, test reports, and process control records.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the documentation.
Process Improvement:
Assist in the identification of process inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
Work with senior engineers on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Root Cause Analysis:
Participate in problem-solving activities to identify root causes of quality issues.
Support the investigation of customer complaints and non-conformance issues.
Support Product Testing:
Assist in the setup and execution of product testing and quality validation processes.
Ensure that products meet established specifications and standards.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the manufacturing, engineering, and design teams to ensure quality standards are met.
Participate in team meetings to discuss quality issues and project progress.To qualify for this role you must meet the following:
Currently pursuing a degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to identify issues and inconsistencies in products and processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks.Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
Experience with quality control tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, MSA).
Basic knowledge of CAD software or other engineering tools.Benefits:
