Position Overview

This position is located at our Conover, NC manufacturing plant and reports to the production supervisor. The Chemical Feed Operator/Control Room Operator plays a critical role in our manufacturing processes with responsibility of monitoring and making required adjustments to ensure the production lines are operating safely, producing quality wood fiber product and meeting efficiency targets. A typical day as a Chemical Feed Operator is spent half working in the control room and half working on the production floor which includes working at heights and in confined space.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform plant start-ups, sku change overs and shutdowns as required

Oversee the flow of the production line from start to finish via touch screen computers and physical checks of the production equipment.

Troubleshoot and make adjustments to production equipment as needed.

Quality control checks

Operate a forklift, enter confined space and work at heights as needed.

Assist floor personnel when needed or directed by Supervisor

Perform additional duties as required.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent
