Position Title: Gardener & Groundskeeper

Department: Production -Nord Farm

Reports To: Production Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Seasonal – Full-Time

Compensation: $18.50 – $20.00 hourly

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Gardener -Groundskeeper to maintain and enhance our company’s display garden, plant collections garden, overall grounds and exterior landscapes at our facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all garden areas reflect our commitment to operational excellence and are welcoming, well-maintained, and thriving throughout the seasons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Care for a diverse range of ornamental plants, perennials, shrubs, and trees in our display and collections garden.

Ensure plants are healthy and properly pruned, staked, fertilized and watered.

Implement seasonal planting, mulching, and soil management practices.

Monitor plant health, identify pests and diseases, and work with our Plant Health applicators on responsible treatments.

Maintain lawns, and public areas around the facility, ensuring they are clean, safe and visually appealing.

Operate and maintain gardening tools, equipment and machinery (e.g. mowers, blowers, trimmers).

Perform regular upkeep such as weeding, edging, litter removal and leaf blowing as necessary.

Assist and work with our Marketing department in planning seasonal displays, garden improvements, and plant installations.

Work with management to ensure gardens align with company’s aesthetic and brand identity.

Assist with preparations and planning of company events located in the gardens.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Prior experience as a gardener, groundskeeper, or in a landscaping role.

Knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and general best practices gardening.

Valid driver’s license and ability to meet motor vehicle report (MVR) criteria.

Strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for maintaining attractive and healthy landscapes.

Ability of working both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Ability to work occasional extended hours based on various company events scheduled in the gardens.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with basic irrigation systems and troubleshooting.

Educational background in horticulture, landscape design, or related field.

Experience with seasonal display planting or low-maintenance garden design.
