Our UX team is looking for a hybrid role that is focused design system management and website interaction design. For our design system, you’ll help us go from 1.0 to 1.1 and beyond while assisting developers elevate the developer component library. For the website interaction design, you’ll work across the website applying the design system to solve business and customer needs.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Maintain and evolve the company’s design system, including defining, refining, and documenting Figma components.
Collaborate with IT and design team members to co-present and govern the design system on Sharepoint and Storybook
Work closely with UX researchers and business leads to identify and act on UX opportunities
Design and implement customer-facing experiences using CMS or SPAs
Wireframe, iterate, and update designs in real-time, incorporating live feedback.
Ensure quality user experiences post-launch by following through on updates
Use tools like Figma, Lucid, Azure DevOps, Teams, and Outlook daily
Aligning Priorities:
This role emphasizes collaboration, real-time design iteration, and alignment with business goals.
Work on a small, focused UX team (3-person, US-based) dedicated to ni.com's improvement in pre-sales, sales, and post-sales customer experiences
Contribute to a mission of creating user-centric designs that accomplish business objectives through supporting customer needs
Be present on-site at NI’s Austin campus Monday through Thursday, while also engaging remotely with a global team.
Defining Success:
Success in this role is measured by a demonstration of a strong understanding of design systems, interaction design principles, user-centered design methodologies, and responsive web design. You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and fellow designers to translate user needs and business goals into elegant, functional interfaces.
Legal Compliance:
This role requires adherence to digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR/CCPA), and internal brand and compliance guidelines. You will document design decisions and maintain version control of design assets in accordance with company policies.

For this Role, You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; or a Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
