Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator:
On behalf of our financial client, Procom is searching for a Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator for a 7-month contract role on W2.
This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Irving, TX office.
Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator - Job Description:
This role involves providing L3 Production Support, Engineering, and User Onboarding to Kafka. The position requires analyzing and identifying existing production issues and recommending appropriate solutions to ensure system health and performance.
Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator - Responsibilities:
• Provide L3 Production Support and engineering for Confluent Kafka.
• Administer and maintain Confluent Platform components, including Apache Kafka and related tools.
• Implement and support Event Driven Architecture Components like Kafka Brokers and Zookeeper.
• Utilize scripting technologies such as SHELL or Python for software automation.
• Implement and use monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and JMX.
• Identify problem causality, business impact, and root causes.
• Document requirements for high-impact application enhancements and problem resolution.
• Identify and address risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues.
• Use ticketing tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow for issue tracking and collaboration.
• Plan and execute Middleware Integrations to Kafka with minimal disruption.
Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator - Mandatory Skills:
• Confluent Kafka subject matter expertise and hands-on administrative experience.
• Experience with Apache Kafka, Kafka Brokers, and Zookeeper.
• Proficiency in SHELL or Python scripting for automation.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and JMX.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with large-scale multi-region Kafka cluster environments.
• Knowledge of risk mitigation strategies.
• Familiarity with accessible system design.
• Experience in documenting complex application enhancements.
• Understanding of Middleware Integrations.

This is a 7-month contract position on W2
