Job Description
High School Chemistry Teacher
Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic chemistry teacher to join our dedicated team of teachers at the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Our chemistry curriculum includes two distinct classes, general chemistry and honors chemistry.
Honors Chemistry
This course follows the New York State regents curriculum. Students will complete the required 1200 minutes of lab hours and take the updated 2026 Chemistry Regents exam. This class meets every other day with an additional lab block once a class cycle.
General Chemistry
The course follows the basic outline of the regents curriculum but with a greater focus on real world applications and less on mathematical equations. The goal of this course is to help students gain an understanding of basic chemistry concepts using hands-on activities. There is an opportunity to help design this course alongside the science department chairperson.
Teachers will also be expected to serve as a homeroom mentor to a small group of students and to participate in grade level events such as junior ring night. Select senior electives may also be available for the right candidate.
