Overview: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong mathematical background to join our team as a COBOL Developer. No prior experience with COBOL is required; we are looking for someone with a passion for learning and problem-solving, eager to dive into the world of legacy systems and software development. If you're a math teacher, statistician, data analyst, or anyone with a solid foundation in mathematical principles and logical thinking, we would love to provide the training you need to thrive in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Learn COBOL Development: You will be trained to write, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications, primarily for financial and business systems.

Problem Solving: Apply mathematical and analytical skills to troubleshoot, optimize, and improve legacy systems written in COBOL.

System Maintenance: Work on maintaining and enhancing existing COBOL programs, ensuring they are running efficiently and accurately.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with business analysts, system architects, and other developers to understand requirements and develop solutions.

Documentation and Testing: Help create documentation for software and systems, and participate in the testing process to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technology trends and be willing to expand your skills to other programming languages and technologies as needed.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. (Teaching experience in mathematics is a plus!)

Strong problem-solving abilities with a logical, structured approach to tackling challenges.

A passion for learning new concepts, technologies, and systems. We will provide the necessary training to become proficient in COBOL.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and perform complex calculations accurately.

A proactive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and an eagerness to take on new challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
