JOB TITLE: IT Asset Management Technician

REPORTS TO: Campus Support Manager

WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt

PAYGRADE: IT 1

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The IT Asset Management Analyst will support the IT Operations organization with ordering of IT hardware and software, as well as manage processes, strategies, and technologies that support a full lifecycle approach to managing all assets of our district infrastructure. IT Asset

Management covers a wide spectrum of responsibility, including aiding with asset requests,

approvals, procurement, receipt, setup, installation, repairs, changes, upgrades, moves, analysis, and disposal of assets.

All employees of Spring ISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals,

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

High school diploma from an accredited institution

2 years of experience managing hardware and software inventory

3 years of experience with all facets of IT Asset Management

Preferred:

ITIL certification

A+ certification

Experience with asset management systems, preferably TipWeb

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of various current desktop hardware technologies (Chromebooks, desktops,laptops and peripherals)

Ability to generate reports and analyze metrics

Expertise in analyzing customer hardware requests and providing solutions that align to the District’s standards

Ability to communicate to customers about technology in terms they can easily understand

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Ability to solve problems and make wise decisions independently, with the focus on customer service.

Manage all technology hardware lifecycle.

Maintain and monitor hardware inventory database.

Monitor parts needed for hardware repair and respond proactively as parts are being consumed for repairs.

Perform technology research and identify cost effective and efficient hardware and parts for purchases, including requesting quotes.

Track hardware maintenance agreements and warranties.

Provide an overview of hardware as it is repaired by the internal IT team or sent to vendors for warranty work.

Maintain quotes on the Spring ISD intranet site and vendor portals.

Track all assets using asset tags and TipWeb.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following

physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting and use of a computer, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require traveling within the district. Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations;

Interface with all levels of leadership, dynamic environment with changing priorities and

occasional irregular hours. Ability to be effective in both oral and written communication and the ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
