Primary Purpose:
Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of a certified teacher.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED AND
Associate’s degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning, or have met formal academic assessment required by No Child Left Behind Act
AND
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom
Help maintain neat and orderly
Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of
Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required
Provide orientation and assistance to substitute
Student Management
Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small
Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside This includes lunchroom and bus duty.
Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual
Assist with the supervision of students during
Assist with behavior management of the classroom and reinforcing DAEP rules and

Participate in staff development training programs to improve job
Participate in faculty meeting and special events as
Maintain confidentiality of
