Job Title: Program Coordinator – Postsecondary Programs

Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Department Administrator – College and Career Readiness

Division/Department: Superintendent

Pay Group: A15

Primary Purpose: Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of postsecondary education programs to assist district administration with student advisement, recruitment, professional development and operations.

Assist in the operation, review and monitoring of postsecondary programs to include student pathways and transfers for program participation.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Experience:

Bachelor's degree or higher from a college or university accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is required. A degree in Business Administration, Education, or Criminal Justice is preferred.

A total of four years of full-time, wage-earning experience in higher-education, education in corrections, education, criminal justice or a related field.

This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely.

This position requires travel.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficiency in computers and peripheral equipment.

Knowledge of the school district organization, operations, policies and procedures.

Ability to manage assignments and meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as part of a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Monitor postsecondary schedules and offerings, including academic and career and technical education offerings.

Review, monitor and maintain college waivers.

Review and monitor degree plans.

Plan, coordinate, and monitor graduations across the district.

Coordinate college registration with principals and/or college personnel.

Coordinate orientation and training for postsecondary staff to ensure policy compliance.

Process prospective student applications and assist with the transfer process for participation.

Assist department administrator with special projects, research and training related to postsecondary as needed.

Prepare written and oral reports and other documents as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information received in the performance of the job duties.

Perform duties in a professional manner through daily, punctual attendance at locations of work assignment.

Follow Windham School District policies and procedures in completing assigned job duties.

Execute duties in a professional, ethical and responsible manner as defined in 19 TAC Chapter 247, Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators.

Work inside and outside, noise, radiant/electrical energy, work alone, work with others, around machines with moving parts and objects, possible exposure to microwaves in use, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
