Senior Civil Site Construction Estimator
A well-established civil contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in site development and utilities. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in estimating civil site work, including earthwork, drainage, and underground utilities, who is ready to contribute to a growing and safety-focused team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for civil site construction projects
Specialize in site clearing, excavation, drainage, utilities, grading, and paving
Analyze construction documents to determine scope and materials
Perform accurate quantity take-offs and develop cost proposals
Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits for risk analysis
Solicit and review quotes from subcontractors and vendors
Present budgets, reports, and project plans to internal stakeholders
Collaborate with operations and project management teams throughout bid process
Interpret and apply relevant construction standards and specifications
Support a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
Maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and partners
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Experience with HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob and AGTEK strongly preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong math skills, including geometry and arithmetic
Comfortable interpreting construction specs and drawings
Capable of managing multiple bids and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Up-to-date knowledge of local and state construction standards
Willingness to participate in training and professional development
Occasional travel for site visits required; primarily office-based
Education & Experience
Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
5–7+ years of proven experience estimating civil site and utility projects
Background in both private and public work preferred; emphasis on private sector
Valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization required
