Overview:
Seeking a QA/QC Commissioning Engineer / CSA Superintendent to support and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) programs for mission-critical data center construction projects across the U.S. This hybrid role combines construction oversight (specifically CSA – Civil, Structural, Architectural) with commissioning support, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities
Construction Oversight & Coordination
Perform quality control and field inspection duties during all phases of construction.
Act as assistant superintendent across multiple job sites, providing CSA expertise.
Ensure subcontractors comply with scope of work and project standards.
Schedule and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to maintain project timelines.
Lead and document subcontractor meetings and job site walk-throughs.
Resolve conflicts in construction progress through proactive coordination.
Issue non-compliance notices and track corrective actions.
Maintain job site cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance.
Conduct progress and punch list inspections to support project closeout.
Quality Assurance & Commissioning Support
Support QA/QC commissioning processes across multiple project phases (Level 0–Level 3 or Level 4–Level 6 commissioning).
Review and maintain QA/QC documentation including test results, inspection requests, and non-compliance reports.
Attend Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and verify production compliance prior to equipment shipment.
Assess quality of materials and workmanship per project specifications and codes.
Create and maintain inspection checklists and SOPs.
Assist in audit and compliance inspections for internal and external stakeholders.
Safety & Risk Management
Enforce adherence to safety regulations, job safety analysis protocols, and inspection test plans.
Monitor subcontractor performance related to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Identify risks and recommend corrective and preventive actions
Must Haves:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
9+ years of construction experience with 3–5 years focused on QA/QC inspection or building envelope commissioning
Ground-up data center construction experience required.
Direct familiarity with inspection processes, particularly Cx Levels 0–3 or 4–6.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
In-depth knowledge of Division 2–10 trades (from concrete to finishes).
Strong blueprint reading and documentation interpretation skills.
Proficiency with construction quality tools and test equipment.
Proven ability to identify, document, and resolve quality deficiencies.
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong math and analytical abilities.
Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and other project management tools
