About Cogs' Client:

Cogs’ client is a rapidly growing engineering organization recognized for delivering innovative, fit-for-purpose solutions in some of the most demanding environments, including offshore and subsea sectors. Their ethos is grounded in solving complex technical problems through ingenuity, collaboration, and hands-on execution. If an existing product or system doesn’t meet the project’s needs, they have the capability and mindset to design and build it from scratch.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create and refine mechanical systems used in offshore and remote applications. The position involves frequent interaction with the shop floor, assembly teams, and field operations to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and robust in the field.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Design innovative mechanical solutions for complex technical problems

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams across all stages of product development

Provide support during product build, testing, and deployment phases

Engage in iterative prototyping and continuous improvement processes

Occasionally work outside normal hours to support urgent project needs

Travel as required for site visits, field support, or conferences

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience

3+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and design projects

Practical experience in assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting mechanical systems

Familiarity with engineering standards and manufacturing methods

Ability to operate safely and effectively in a shop environment

Physical ability to lift 35–50 lbs when required

Preferred:

2+ years of experience taking mechanical designs from concept to production

Experience with electrical systems, machine design, or hydromechanical systems

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)

Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, PLM tools, and ERP systems

Background in subsea engineering is a strong plus

Prior hands-on experience as a technician is highly desirable
