Role Overview
This role is ideal for a mechanically minded engineer who thrives on designing custom systems in fast-paced, high-impact environments. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create and refine mechanical systems used in offshore and remote applications. The position involves frequent interaction with the shop floor, assembly teams, and field operations to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and robust in the field.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Design innovative mechanical solutions for complex technical problems
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams across all stages of product development
Provide support during product build, testing, and deployment phases
Engage in iterative prototyping and continuous improvement processes
Occasionally work outside normal hours to support urgent project needs
Travel as required for site visits, field support, or conferences
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
3+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and design projects
Practical experience in assembling, disassembling, and troubleshooting mechanical systems
Familiarity with engineering standards and manufacturing methods
Ability to operate safely and effectively in a shop environment
Physical ability to lift 35–50 lbs when required
Preferred:
2+ years of experience taking mechanical designs from concept to production
Experience with electrical systems, machine design, or hydromechanical systems
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, PLM tools, and ERP systems
Background in subsea engineering is a strong plus
Prior hands-on experience as a technician is highly desirable
