Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail – the owner and operator of Britain’s mainline rail system. The opportunity with NRC
NRC is bidding for a place on a $1Bn framework contract to provide project management services to support the Sound Transit 3 (ST3) programme of transit improvements for the Puget Sound area, including the cities of Seattle, Everett, Bellvue and Tacoma. This ambitious $60Bn programme comprises 4 light rail extension schemes and an extension to the Sounder commuter rail network. When complete, the programme will double the number of riders using public transit in the Puget Sound area.
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team as a Project Manager based in Seattle, we offer flexibility and hybrid working.
We have already delivered several key advisory and infrastructure projects across the US and have consistently demonstrated exceptional value to our clients through deep integration with their teams, showing ourselves to be a true partner and peer.
You will provide strong project management and risk management support across a range of internal projects/programs and client assignments. The main function is to play an active role in carrying out project and risk management tasks across projects and programs (both internal and client assignments).
To be considered for this role, you will need to:
Manage and be responsible for sub-contractors and DBE/SBE contracts
Effectively support the management and delivery of client assignments – making yourself flexible and outcome focussed, with a willingness to complete varied project management and co-ordination tasks as required
Support the assignment lead in managing the overall assignment WBS/PBS, project schedule and budget – including analysis and reporting where necessary
Lead or support the safety/business risk management - working with stakeholders to identify change and its relevant risks, and subsequently managing project logs and collecting/summarizing actions and progress
Provide support to audit tasks - including comparing action/risk logs & project/program schedules as well as managing the administration of audit processes
Deliver business outcomes collaboratively with employees in NRC, the wider Network Rail Group and NRC’s partners
Undertake all activities in a safe environment and in accordance with NRC operating procedures.
Lead or support proposal submissions for client project bids (RFP, SOQ, proposals), including project management of timelines, oversee compliance with all proposal requirements, copyediting, and oversee quality and production control.
Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Educated to degree level with a relevant degree/equivalent experience and have a PMP/equivalent project management qualification
Extensive experience of project management within railroad/transit environment
Have experience of managing multiple contracts simultaneously
Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team and establish relationships at all levels
Proven experience working with and utilising primavera or similar scheduling programs
Experience of managing project budgets and financially astute
Desirable
Knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) rules and regulations.
Knowledge of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) processes, timescales, and strategies.
