Job Position: Q/C Inspector - Assembly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Day to day functions):
Define and establish inspection processes that are cost effective and meet all quality and
ISO9001 requirements.
Day to day interaction with shop employees including all levels of management.
Changing and improving processes to increase productivity and competitiveness.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), In-Process and Final Inspection for Assembly, Sheet
Metal and Machining Departments to ensure conformance to all specifications.
Perform Receiving and Outside process inspections as applicable.
Assembles all necessary inspection documents to accompany shipments.
Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and conduct system testing.
Able to read engineering blueprints, Interpret GD&T and inspect parts.
Issue Internal and Supplier Non- Conformance Reports when defective parts/products have
been identified.
Issue Engineering Change Request when Work Ticket, BOM or drawings are incorrect.
Document NCRs, ECRs, SNCRs and CARs in their respective logs.
Assist on Customer Complaints during the investigation process.
Assist with Calibration and Preventative Maintenance Programs for the facility.
Assist with Safety Program for the facility.
Recommends changes in SOP's, blueprints (GD&T), production standards, and other
actions that will improve operations performance.
Maintain part and lot traceability information throughout the inspection process.
Conducts frequent internal quality, 6S and safety audits.
Open to overtime as production requirements require it.
Ability to make unbiased, data-driven decisions.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
At least 5 years' experience demonstrating strong ability to Q/C at a precision sheet metal
Strong Knowledge in ISO9001 quality system and Operations (Laser, Forming, Welding,
Assembly and Paint).
Must be proficient at reading and understanding written processes, engineering blueprints,
safety and work instructions, maintenance instructions, SOPs and job routers.
Must excel at understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Must know how to use measuring equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Comparator)
Exceptional interpersonal communication and computer (Word & Excel) skills.
Ability to interface effectively with assemblers, support groups, and management.
Strong problem-solving ability in resolving complex problems arising during the assembly
process. Includes investigation and recommendations for productivity enhancements.
Highly competent, trustworthy and self-driven. Sincere relationship management skills are a
must.

10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
ability to adjust focus
Work Environment:
This position is performed in a climate-controlled temperature environment. Incumbent in this role
will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule to achieve objectives.
