Enterprise Electrical Co. is seeking a highly organized and analytical Project Controller with procurement experience to oversee project financials and support purchasing activities for our commercial electrical projects. This hybrid role ensures cost control, financial reporting, and procurement operations are executed efficiently to keep projects on budget, on time, and in compliance with company standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

Project Controls & Financial Oversight:

Track and manage project budgets, forecasts, and job cost reports in collaboration with Project Managers and Estimators.

Prepare and analyze monthly Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports and assist with revenue recognition.

Develop project cash flow projections and monitor cost-to-complete metrics.

Analyze variances between budgeted and actual costs, recommending corrective actions.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure alignment between field reporting and accounting.

Support closeout procedures including final cost reconciliation, vendor audits, and retention release tracking.

Procurement & Buyer Duties:

Source, negotiate, and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for ongoing projects.

Issue purchase orders (POs), track order status, and coordinate delivery schedules to meet project timelines.

Work with vendors and suppliers to resolve pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, and quality concerns.

Maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.

Review and validate invoices, ensuring alignment with POs and project budgets.

Maintain procurement logs and cost-tracking systems for audit and forecasting purposes.

Collaborate with field teams to anticipate material needs and avoid jobsite delays.

Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, warranty tracking, and vendor terms.

Skills and Qualification

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in project controls, procurement, or buying within the construction or electrical industry.

Strong understanding of construction job costing, WIP reporting, and procurement best practices.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction software (e.g., Viewpoint, Procore, CMiC, or similar ERP systems).

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

Knowledge of electrical materials, tools, and vendor networks is a strong plus.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required):

Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP)

Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP)

Project Management Professional (PMP)
