The Systems Administrator will be instrumental in implementing and managing Network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security across our facilities. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in networking and server administration, alongside project management skills, allowing you to lead network and server-related projects from conception to completion while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation: Configure and deploy robust network solutions, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Server Administration: Manage, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, including installation, updates, backups, and performance tuning across various operating systems (Linux and Windows).
Project Management: Lead network and server-related projects, including upgrades, migrations, and deployments, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful project execution.
Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring tools for both network and server performance, proactively assessing performance and security, and making data-driven recommendations for improvements.
Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network and server architecture, including configuration guides and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced technical support for complex network and server issues, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely manner to minimize disruption to operations.
Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, operations, and vendors to identify network and server requirements, support strategic initiatives, and ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
Requirements:
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, OSPF, and VLANs, with hands-on experience in configuring enterprise-level network equipment.
Server Administration Skills: Proficiency in managing and configuring server environments, including DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Project Management Skills: Proven experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting, with a focus on meeting project milestones and deliverables.
Networking Tools Proficiency: Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools, such as Wireshark, Zabbix, or equivalent.
Operating Systems Knowledge: Proficient in Linux and/or Windows operating systems, with the ability to troubleshoot cross-platform issues.
Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mobility: Valid Driver's license and vehicle, with the ability to travel within the DFW area as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in network engineering and server administration, with a track record of successful project management in a technical environment.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or JNCIS-ENT.
