Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Head of Operations to lead and optimize key operational functions including procurement, inventory control, order processing, customer service, logistics, facilities, and production planning. This role is critical in supporting cross-functional teams and driving process improvements to enable company-wide efficiency, cost savings, and scalability. The role reports to the VP, Product and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end supply chain and procurement functions, ensuring timely availability of materials and vendor accountability
Oversee inventory and warehouse operations, maintaining accurate records and ensuring alignment with demand planning
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules, product launches, and R&D priorities
Oversee order processing and customer service
Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce lead times, and control costs
Coordinate shipping and logistics functions, including domestic and international compliance
Support facility operations including safety protocols, maintenance, and space planning
Identify and implement systems and process improvements, including ERP enhancements
Monitor KPIs to evaluate performance and recommend corrective actions when needed
Develop and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred
Minimum 5 years of operations experience including supply chain in biotech, life sciences
Demonstrated success managing procurement, logistics, and inventory systems
ERP system experience required
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience working in Biotech or Life Science Start-up is a plus
