Position Title: Senior Estimator - HVAC & Plumbing

Overview:
We are partnering with a respected mechanical contracting firm in Cincinnati, Ohio, to find a Senior Estimator with expertise in HVAC and/or plumbing systems. This is a leadership role ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering accurate, competitive project estimates. You'll oversee regional estimating efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from bid to build.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead estimating efforts for HVAC and plumbing projects in the Cincinnati region.
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost estimates.
Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain and improve estimating tools and databases.
Ensure smooth project handoffs from estimating to project management.
Draft clear, concise scope letters and conduct scope reviews with vendors.
Stay current with industry-standard estimating software and participate in training as needed.
Provide estimating support to other regions when required.
Qualifications:
10+ years of commercial HVAC or plumbing estimating experience.
Alternatively, completion of an approved apprenticeship program plus 3 years as a Journeyman.
Proven ability to lead and finalize complex job estimates.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
In-depth knowledge of plumbing and piping systems.
Excellent math and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Comfortable presenting to clients and conducting scope reviews.
Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Journeyman Plumber or HVAC license (or equivalent experience) preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Valid driver's license.
Ability to conduct site visits, including climbing ladders and accessing equipment.
Vision correctable to 20/50.
