Job Description

We are looking for a Core PHP Developer responsible for managing back-end web services and the interchange of data between the server and users. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, maintenance of the central database and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from remote clients. Since these web services are accessed 24/7/365 with many terabytes of throughput, your code will have to meet a high standard of resilience and performance. For internal-to-company web applications, you will also be responsible for integrating front-end elements into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Skill sets:

In-depth expertise and hands-on experience in Core PHP.

Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.

Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming.

Understanding accessibility and security compliance.

Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions.

Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application.

User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.

Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.

Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds.

Creating database schemas

Familiarity with MYSQL and very high proficiency in the query language and optimisation.

Proficient use of code versioning tools, such as Subversion, Git
