We are seeking a dedicated Assembly Process Engineer to join our team.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for reviewing, recommending, and implementing assembly process improvements for productivity, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Define the process for the assembly of MPE products. Create and modify work instructions, create process steps, develop and create process drawings, and create any quality instruction requirements.

Establish line layouts and station workflow.

Determine tooling and fixture requirements.

Maintain revision control through MPE’s ERP system.

Provide technical manufacturing support throughout the organization.

Communicate with customers on manufacturing techniques and quality related issues.

Continuously improve the assembly process engineering procedures for improved quality to the floor results.

Consult with supervisors and leads to determine acceptable quality levels.

Research tools, methodologies, and processes to find solutions to improve production efficiency, quality, and safety.

Complete time studies on manufacturing processes.

Assist in the training of operations personnel on new and revised products.

Qualifications

Education:

Degree in a technical field such as mechanical, manufacturing, and/or industrial engineering or related experience

Experience and Training:

Two plus years of experience in mechanical assembly (working with assembly lines, start to finish builds, tabletop assembly, etc.) is required

Blueprint reading and interpretation

CAD/CAM, Solidworks, and/or Pro-E Software knowledge

Continuous Improvement

Lean and Six Sigma knowledge preferred

Microsoft Office suite software knowledge preferred

Physical and Mental Demands:

Regularly required to sit, stand, read and communicate with others

Must be able to read blueprints and troubleshoot processes

Specific vision abilities include close vision, use of hand tools, and lifting up to 30 pounds
