About Us: Stretch-n-Grow is the world’s largest fitness and nutrition program for children. We are looking for energetic, passionate, and dedicated instructors to join our Dancing Stars and Fitness Stars teams in Madison, Rankin, and Hinds counties. Our programs aim to nurture creativity, motor skills, and fitness in young children, and we need team members who are enthusiastic about working with toddlers and children in a fun and dynamic environment.
Position Overview: As an instructor, you will teach dance and fitness classes to young children. Our Dancing Stars program emphasizes creative movement and basic ballet techniques, while the Fitness Stars program incorporates story-based movement games to develop motor skills. This is a part-time position primarily in the mornings, and we are looking for instructors who enjoy working with young children and can bring energy and positivity to each class.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach dance and fitness classes to young children (ages 18m-8) in a supportive, encouraging, and fun environment.
Implement pre-planned lesson plans that focus on motor skill development, creative movement, and fitness.
Foster a positive, energetic atmosphere that inspires children to move, learn, and grow.
Travel between local schools (Hinds, Madison, Rankin Counties) as part of the role.
Attend mandatory training sessions and participate in occasional performances/recitals (two per year).
Job Requirements:
Must have a passion for working with young children and a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
Morning availability (Monday-Thursday, 8:15am-1pm) is required. Flexibility for scheduling is preferred as long as it aligns with our morning hours.
Commitment to a part-time role for the Fall/Spring/Summer semester. We seek long-term team members who are dependable and dedicated.
Dependable transportation is essential as the role requires travel between schools. Travel time between locations is provided.
No prior dance or fitness experience required, although a background in dance or working with children is a plus.
Must be willing to undergo a background check and complete an online job application.
Compensation:
Starting Pay: $15 per hour, with the potential for an increase based on commitment and performance.
Classes are held on weekdays, and weekends or evenings are not required (except for the bi-annual recitals/performances).
Paid training, lesson plans, apparel, music, and equipment provided.
