Job Title: Automation Technician
Job Description
The Automation Technician plays a critical role in the beverage manufacturing and packaging processes, ensuring the smooth operation of equipment through advanced automation, electrical, and instrumentation skills.
Responsibilities
Participate in and direct troubleshooting activities in the event of equipment failure, including failure analysis, problem-solving, and prevention.
Work collaboratively with the production team to make rapid, informed decisions regarding equipment issues.
Troubleshoot systems and resolve issues through investigation, analysis, testing, and follow-up.
Conduct testing and upgrading of all production equipment, installation, and testing of new food manufacturing, packaging, and processing equipment.
Interface with machine tools and special equipment or test modules, troubleshoot existing equipment for electrical or electronics failures, and modify machines to improve or update functionality.
Perform maintenance and calibration of site instrumentation.Essential Skills
Strong knowledge in PLC troubleshooting, electrical maintenance, and mechanical skills.
Proficiency in PLC programming, automation, and electrical repair.
Experience in preventive maintenance, Allen-Bradley systems, and 3-phase industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and familiarity with robotics, conveyors, pneumatics, automation systems, hydraulics, and HMI programming.
Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial maintenance with expertise in electrical, mechanical, PLC, instrumentation, and calibration.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Journeyman Card is a plus but not required.
Previous union experience, particularly with Steel Workers Union, is advantageous.
Experience in food-grade manufacturing and waste water treatment is beneficial.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The facility bottles juice boxes, pouches, bottles, and various cartons used for happy meals in a food-grade environment. The work schedule is on D Shift: Crew D operates from 1 AM to 7 AM on half of Wednesday, and from 7 PM to 7 AM Thursday through Saturday.

This is a Permanent position based out of PAW PAW, Michigan.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
