Minimum 1+ years intrepreter experience required.

A school district near Galeton, Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter for the 20252026 school year. This is a full-time, in-person position supporting a student who is deaf or hard of hearing by facilitating munication between the student, peers, teachers, and school staff.

Schedule:

Monday Friday

8:00 AM 3:00 PM (32.535 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa in classroom and school settings

Ensure the student has full access to instruction, discussions, and social interaction

Collaborate with the educational team to support student success

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting standards

Requirements:

Minimum 3.5 EIPA score (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) OR

Full certification through RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) provisional certification not accepted

Experience in educational settings preferred

ASL Paraprofessionals with strong experience may be considered, but certified interpreters are strongly preferred
