Job Description

Solve Problems. Improve Products. Make an Impact.

Are you a mechanical engineer who gets a thrill from improving designs, digging into technical challenges, and making things work better? If you’ve got experience in the HVAC world and you’re looking to join a team where your ideas actually make a difference, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for.

We’re on the hunt for a Design Engineer to join a dynamic sustaining engineering team. This isn’t your typical desk-only job—you’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance existing products, support production, and occasionally get involved in new product development. It’s fast-paced, varied work in a high-mix manufacturing setting, where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Designing and modeling mechanical components and assemblies using Creo (yep, CAD nerds welcome)

Troubleshooting and resolving fit, finish, and performance issues in live production

Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring our products meet compliance, fit, and function standards

Supporting the release of product variants, from initial spec all the way to shipment

Collaborating with design, production, and quality teams to keep everything running smoothly

Contributing to testing, validation, and improvement efforts for new product development

What We’re Looking For:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering

Around 5 years of mechanical design experience—HVAC industry experience is strongly preferred

Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (especially Creo) and PLM systems (like Windchill)

Solid understanding of HVAC systems, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics

Familiarity with UL, ETL, AHRI, ASHRAE standards and regulatory compliance

Lean/Six Sigma knowledge is a nice bonus

Bonus points if you’ve dabbled in FEA, CFD, or other predictive modeling tools

A Bit About the Role:

This position blends engineering design with on-the-ground problem-solving. You’ll spend most of your time in the lab and office, occasionally heading out to the production floor to see how your work comes to life. It’s a collaborative space where engineers are valued for their technical insight and their creativity.

We are an Executive Recruiting Firm who specializes in placing "Top Talent" to the "Top Companies." We specialize in the HVAC/R, Appliance & Food Service Industries and have placed professionals in these areas for 20+ yrs. We occasionally place in other industries as well but primarily in the Southern US. Learn more about us by visiting
