Our challenge

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead PHP Developer with a strong background in PHP, Laravel and CodeIgniter expertise in using and implementing in application development to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will possess over 10+ years of experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex applications.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

Design and architect PHP-based applications and services, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Lead the development and implementation of software solutions using PHP 8.x frameworks (e.g., Laravel 10.x, CodeIgniter 4.x).

Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to developers on best practices and design patterns.

Define and maintain coding standards, documentation, and architectural guidelines.

Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.

Mentor and train development teams to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.

Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.

Requirement:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

10+ years of experience in PHP development, with at least 3 years in an architectural role.

Proficiency in PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, CodeIgniter) and experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery).

Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL) and API development (RESTful services).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred, but not required:

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of microservices architecture and design.

Experience with Cloud

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

MongoDB expeirence is a plus.
