Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) - Defense Search

Immediate opening for a Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) in San Diego, CA who possesses:
Experience with Inspection tools (Micrometer, Calipers, Protractors, optical comparators, rulers, etc.)
1+ year of industry experience preferred
Experience within aerospace or defense preferred

FULL DESCRIPTION: This position is responsible is responsible for inspecting products for conformance to specification, and dimensions listed on Traveler. In addition, this position is required to comply with all safety protocols to complete daily tasks at all times. It requires visual acuity and attention to detail to perform this task.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
Understand and follow company's Quality Policy, System Procedures and Operations Manuals.
Understand and follow safety procedures such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Understand and follow procedures outlined in the General Shop instructions and Inspection Procedure found in the Operating Manual (O.M.)
First Article buy-off to nominal dimensions on all operations listed on the traveler
Review Inspection tools & gauges for proper calibration
In-Process and Final inspection with visual and dimensional inspections of finished products adhering to customer specific requirements
Working knowledge and history of using inspection tooling (micrometers, calipers, protractors, pi tape, optical comparator)
Create NCRs when non-conforming parts are identified, or the condition of the operation is not suitable to yield good parts
Investigate and report non-conforming product to Supervisor
Identify improvements and report them to Quality Supervisor and Quality Manager
Communicate and pass-down status of parts and/or quality issues
Develop collaborative relationships between departments
Ability to train operators as needed in inspection equipment such as calipers, protractors, comparator etc.
Ability to read basic GD&T blueprint
Maintain a clean work area
Salary Range: $21-$24/hr
