POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The web administrator/DevOps Engineer manages web servers, automates CI/CD pipelines, ensures smooth deployment processes, and optimizes web application performance and availability. They are also responsible for backups, maintenance, and implementing high availability configurations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, or related field
6+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or system administration
Extensive experience in large scale design and implementation projects
Master's in computer science, or related field (desired)
Experience working with education systems or Department of Education (desired)
CERTIFICATIONS:
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and manage CI/CD pipelines
Maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Ansible
Monitor system performance and implement observability best practices
Collaborate with development, security, and QA teams to streamline release cycles
Ensure web servers and applications follow DOE Security standards
SKILLS:
Proficient working with Windows Server, IIS, PowerShell, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, VMWare AVI Load Balancer or equivalent technologies
Strong scripting skills
Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and secure deployment practices
Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams as well as independently
Ability to clearly communicate risks, obstacles, and issues
Excellent analytical skills for monitoring performance
