We’re looking for an engaging and experienced Meteorologist to join our team at Louisiana First News in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to provide accurate and compelling weather coverage on NBC 33, FOX44, CW21 and LouisianaFirstNews.com. Key Responsibilities
Deliver live, accurate, and engaging weather forecasts during scheduled newscasts
Provide continuous, real-time coverage during severe weather events
Create graphics and visual storytelling using weather software (e.g., WSI Max, Baron Lynx, or similar)
Produce digital and social media forecasts; post updates on digital platforms
Collaborate with producers and newsroom staff to plan and enhance weather coverage
Represent the station at community events, school visits, and weather safety outreach programs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or related field
2–3 years of on-air meteorology experience preferred
Strong on-camera communication and presentation skills
Familiarity with Baron Weather systems, broadcast weather tools and newsroom workflows
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and severe weather coverage
Preferred Attributes

Skilled at making weather relatable and understandable to a broad audience
Comfortable with digital content creation and social media engagement
Familiarity with Gulf Coast climate and weather patterns
