Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Linthicum, MD.

This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Linthicum, MD

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9 am-5 pm (40hrs/week)

Pay Range: $21- $23.20 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume

Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws using straight needles and/or butterfly needles with proper technique

Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and store specimens according to established procedures and test requirements

Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes to ensure accuracy

Collect and store specimens (blood, urine, fecal) while ensuring patient comfort and clear communication of procedures

Accurately update and verify patient information and test requisitions

Record equipment maintenance data and follow decontamination procedures

Package specimens securely for transport, maintaining temperature and handling protocols to preserve specimen integrity

Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations

Job Requirements:

Valid Phlebotomy Certification for the state of employment (as required)

Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Phlebotomy Certification (state-specific)

Knowledge of specimen collection procedures and lab protocols

Familiarity with OSHA and DEP safety standards

Experience Required:

2–4 years of experience in phlebotomy, specimen handling, and laboratory procedures

At least 6 months of hands-on venipuncture experience in a clinical or laboratory setting
