Job Description

As a Level 1 Material Handler, you play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and accuracy of warehouse operations. You are the crucial connection between incoming materials, inventory storage, and the manufacturing floor. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to perform physical tasks with care and consistency. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, stocking materials, pulling orders, and supporting production by ensuring timely and accurate material flow.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and inspect incoming materials; verify packing lists against purchase orders.

Accurately document discrepancies and report them using the company’s ERP system.

Safely move, label, and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse.

Pull and stage parts and components for production according to pick lists and work orders.

Assist in basic warehouse tasks such as bin transfers, inventory labeling, and kitting.

Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) under supervision.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Report damaged goods or shortages to supervisory staff promptly.

Qualifications:

Experience: 1–2 years of warehouse or material handling experience preferred.

Certifications: Forklift certification is a plus.

Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP or WMS platforms is helpful.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, stand for extended periods, and navigate stairs or warehouse zones as needed.

Skills:

Basic computer use

Strong organizational and time management abilities

Clear communication and teamwork capabilities

Discipline in following safety protocols and standard operating procedures

Schedule & Compensation:

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday half-day shift (TBD)

Overtime: May be required during peak production periods

Pay Range: $22.00 – $23.00/hour, depending on experience
