Shift Supervisor

Job Description

Our client a privately held custom manufacturer of high-quality plastic parts, specializing in PET blow molding manufacturing operations for over 50 years. They are nationally recognized and growing in their space. We are partnered with their Plant Manager and leadership team to recruit a driven and hands-on plastic Shift Supervisor.

Summary:

Responsible for supervising hourly employees engaged in all phases of the manufacturing process. Duties include safety, quality, housekeeping, training, performance management, labor utilization, warehousing, and control of raw materials.

Responsibilities:

Maintains a supportive and productive work atmosphere through professional conduct and effective communication with internal and external customers, including vendors, coworkers, subordinates, and other supervisors.

Resolves all production and resulting quality problems that occur on the shift.

Responsible for frequent checks of product quality.

Accountable for providing shift documentation on decisions, shift issues, actions and status updates for the shift.

Responsible for reviewing and authorizing proper time records for all employees on the shift.

Directs technicians regarding set-up and adjustment assignments.

Proactively notifies the maintenance department of problems and safety hazards.

Ensures machinery run at optimum cycle.

Analyzes technician adjustment logs.

Prepares Daily Production Report.

Consults with Quality Assurance Lead regarding substandard production.

Provides feedback to Production Manager.

Coordinates rework when necessary.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience as a proven leader (Shift Supervisor, Lead Process Technician, Production Supervisor or Production Manager)

2+ years of experience in a plastic processing environment (injection molding, blow molding, extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding, thermoforming, or extrusion).

2+ years of experience with knowledge of maintenance and production changeovers.

Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) skills and ability to read/create excel reports
