Brown Brothers Harriman is currently seeking a Senior PL/SQL Programmer Analyst to join our dynamic, global Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Systems team. In this role, you will bring your expertise in PL/SQL programming as an experienced Senior Systems Programmer. You will be responsible for design, development, implementation, and maintenance of ETF applications. Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent programming capabilities, and a deep understanding of PL/SQL and database technologies.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Design and architect database solutions to meet business needs, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and maintainability.
Conduct system analysis to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for optimization.
Develop and maintain PL/SQL applications.
Optimize SQL queries, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve system efficiency and response time.
Write efficient and high-quality code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards, followed by unit testing.
Integrate PL/SQL applications with APIs.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including system designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams located across different time zones, including developers, database administrators, business analysts, business users, Application Production Support team, and Infrastructure team to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects.
Provide guidance and technical leadership to junior team members and consultants.
Troubleshoot and resolve System issues in a Production environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
7+ years’ experience in IT, primarily hands-on programming experience in PL/SQL.
Proficiency in writing complex PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, packages.
Strong understanding of Oracle database concepts including Oracle Advance Queue, Scheduler, table partitioning, and Golden Gate replication.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization techniques for PL/SQL and SQL queries.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills to identify and resolve issues in PL/SQL applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Experience in both Waterfall and Agile Software development methodologies.
Working experience in a financial industry is a plus.
Experience in Java programming is a plus.
Salary Range
$110,000 - $160,000
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing.
